IMPORTANT UPDATE – 

Police-referred Driver Training Courses are now being moved from physical venue attendance to online participation in light of the current situation surrounding COVID 19 – Coronavirus.

Police-Referred Courses -


Following the UKROEd* decision on the afternoon of 19th March, driver offender training courses at physical venues from Friday 20th March have been postponed until further notice. Sussex Driver Training are looking to provide online participation for National Speed Awareness Courses shortly.

Clients will need to have their own IT equipment with built in camera or webcam. Clients will need a quiet room where they can attend the course without interruption and have a pen and paper ready.

Course Summary

The Safe and Considerate Driving Course is a one day retraining course offered to drivers as a positive alternative to prosecution for a driving without due care and attention or without consideration for other road users.

Course Duration

8 hours theory and on-road course (15 minute course registration + 2 1/2 hours theory + 45 minutes lunch break, followed by 3 1/2 hours in car practical element + 30 minute client debrief)

Practical element delivered on a 2:1 ratio by a suitably qualified Approve Driving Instructor using a dual controlled vehicle.

The aim of the Safe and Considerate Driving Course is to help drivers understand the causes of road traffic collisions, develop strategies to reduce crash risk and improve driving preformance in order to reduce the risk of a further collision or voilation.
