Safer For Bikers

Locally and nationally, motorcyclists are over-represented in casualty statistics.  Here in Sussex, we’ve launched our ‘Stay A Hero’ campaign to try and reverse this situation.  The campaign is going to roll out across Sussex this summer (a period when most motorcycle collisions occur), and is being supported not only by a bespoke magazine, but also through Facebook where the community is being asked to share the memories and stories of the people who inspired them to take up life on two wheels.

We’re also suggesting that all bikers, no matter what their age or experience, consider taking up some ‘top up’ or refresher training.  Just a small investment of time and money could have life changing consequences.

If you’re interested in data surrounding motorcycle casualties in Sussex, then you’ll be pleased to know that we’ve released some initial in-depth analysis with more on the way.

We’ve also tried to explain the different requirements and types of motorcycle protective gear (both clothing and helmets), as well provide information about what licence you need to ride different motorcycles.

We hope that you get involved with ‘Stay A Hero’ by sharing it with your friends and families, and that you continue to enjoy making the most of Sussex on two wheels!
