Safer for Drivers

Car drivers, unsurprisingly, make up the vast percentage of all collisions and injuries on Sussex's roads.  Whether through inexperience, intoxication or momentary lapses in concentration, car drivers face a multitude of risks on the road.

The SSRP offers a range of educational measures to help drivers stay safe, as well as running a wide variety of campaigns to warn against drinking and driving or becoming distracted behind the wheel - all designed to lower the number of collisions that take place each year.

Additionally, the SSRP's engineering division constantly seeks to remove potential hazards on the roads through reprofiling junctions, removing unnecessary signage and installing new road surfacings.
