With the beginning of the school year approaching many parents are considering walking to nursery with their little ones for the first time.

To coincide with this important milestone, the Sussex Safer Roads Partnership (SSRP) is releasing its new version of Bump to Toddler.

Bump to Toddler has been developed to help mums and dads teach road skills and stimulate conversation about road safety.

Neil Hopkins, Communications Manager at the SSRP, said: “From the moment you know you’re pregnant you need to start thinking about road safety for you and your new child.

“This booklet guides you through making the important decisions of buying a car seat and buggy to offering tips to help educate your little one about early road safety.  It contains information which will help keep you, your family and other road users as safe as possible on the road.”

Data about collisions in the vicinity of schools in East and West Sussex can be downloaded from this website for your interest.

The SSRP is committed to reducing road casualties across Sussex through support for programmes in education, engineering and enforcement.
