Two crashes during rush-hour traffic this morning have prompted a warning to drivers.

Motorists are being urged to take it easy in the torrential rain due to the roads becoming increasingly dangerous.

Crowborough Watch Manager Andy Tolkien said: “Drive to the conditions as there is a lot of surface water and people should allow extra time for their journey.”

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service wish to remind drivers that normal driving speeds need to be reduced due to the overnight downpour.

Crews from Crowborough were called to a crash along London Road at 7.15am this morning (26th August), involving two vehicles. A driver in his forties suffered chest pains caused by the seatbelt, following the collision. An ambulance was called to the scene and crews helped to make the area safe for other traffic.

Meanwhile, five minutes later over in Forest Row firefighters were called to a crash in Priory Road, at 7.20am. This involved one vehicle and an ambulance was called to the scene.  Firefighters helped to make the vehicle safe.
