The Angmering footbridge across the A259 is to be resurfaced from next week (February 15).
The West Sussex County Council scheme is being carried out to solve the problem of puddles on the bridge. To help pedestrians cross the road, a temporary pedestrian island will be placed in the middle of the road under the footbridge.
The speed limit on the A259 will also be temporarily reduced to 30 miles an hour on the approaches and through the works area.
The footbridge will be closed while the work is being done, and pedestrians will share the existing cyclepath crossing.
The job will take up to five weekdays to complete, weather permitting and will be carried out between 7.30am and 5pm.
