Henry Smith, Leader of West Sussex County Council, said: “This work is vital to the area as it is near to Gatwick Airport and the M23.

“Carrying the work out overnight will minimise disruption to traffic in the area.”

The scheme is scheduled to take up to two nights to complete, weather permitting. It will be carried out between 7pm and 6am.
