Welcome to our website.

The Sussex Safer Roads Partnership (SSRP) exists to make the roads of our county – and beyond – safer for all road users. 

Our website will give you information about the current projects we’re involved with, more information about who we are and what we do, as well as keeping you up to date with thelatest road safety news.

There has been a lot of discussion in recent weeks about the future of road safety across the UK and the impact of Government funding cuts.  At the present time, the SSRP has no plans to remove any fixed, mobile or red light safety cameras from the county.  You can see where all of our cameras are through our interactive map and, when you click on a camera, you can see the collision statistics against which the camera’s installation was judged.

The Partnership has also just re-released its popular Bump to Toddler guide for parents of young children.  Covering the period from preganancy to toddlerhood, the guide aims to impart useful information on topics ranging from how to safely wear a seat belt while pregnant to car park and buggy safety.

We are also continuing to promote Operation Crackdown – helping to crack down on antisocial driving with the help of Sussex communities – as well as our award-winning Embrace Life seat belt awareness advert.  In the autumn, an exciting new project called ‘Routes – the Teenage Highway Code’ will be coming to schools across Sussex.

Speed Awareness Courses:  Our Speed Awareness Courses continue to be very well received and over 11,000 people have now attended.  However, the take-up is only 50%.  Have you been offered a Speed Awareness Course but turned it down?  If so, we would really appreciate your feedback.  Please email us and let us know why the Course didn't suit your circumstances so that we may continue to improve the offering.
