COSTS - April 2012 Update

Attention: open in a new window. PDF | Print | E-mail

COSTS continues to promote road safety for the business driver and offering advice and support to companies and their management teams.

Both East Sussex and West Sussex Driver Training Teams are delivering Occupational Road Risk Assessments to local companies, which have been well received. David Bradley, the East Sussex team leader is hoping to include their comments in the 'Lunch and Learn' testimonials section of the site next month.

Airwalk operations continue to generate contact with companies. Airwalk for those who do not know are road safety operations mounted by the Roads Policing and Neighbourhood Policing Teams, supported by partners from the Fire and Rescue Service and Council Road Safety Teams. Over the month, PC Phil Badman a casualty reduction officer covering West Sussex has sent out 20 letters to companies advising them that their drivers have been stopped and given advice. He is keen to engage with these companies and offer them support and advice along with the free 'Lunch and Learn' workshops or ORR Assessments.

A recent COSTS presentation by Anjila Clark from the WSCC Road Safety Team at a breakfast meeting to the Rustington Business Partnership has resulted in a number of small businesses getting together to arrange a drop in session with the COSTS team where employees will receive a 'Lunch and Learn' style presentation about mobile phones, speed and the wearing of seat belts. When the date has been set it will be advertised on the website.

If companies wish to take advantage of COSTS and the supporting materials we have on offer please do not hesitate to 'Contact Us' and we will make the necessary arrangements.
